So I am now 190 pages into the Shack. I am really enjoying it and find myself thinking about it throughout the day.
I wanted to share one of passages that make me really start to think early on.
Page 93 when Papa is speaking
"To reveal myself to you as a very large, white grandfather figure with flowing beard, like Gandalf, would simply reinforce your religious stereotypes, and this weekend in not about reinforcing religious stereotypes."
What religious stereotypes do you have?
Some of mine:
-The appearance of God as described in the passage
-God is always gentle and kind
-God controls all our actions (he gave us free will which unfortunately at times lets us control ourselves)
-God doesn't understand this world as it is now
Those are just some that came to my mind.
Again, I hope you are enjoying the book and feel free to comment as you feel fit.
